DH info

Hi guys, anyone have a quick reference for the NFHS DH rules? Something like a few bullet points I can put on 1/2 an index card in my lineup card holder....the great interwebs seem to only want to offer the full rule def/text. Just looking for a quick reference as backup to be preventative on the field. Thanks for your help!

• Having a DH splits a lineup spot into 2 players: one on defense (any fielder), one on offense (the DH)
• The DH must be listed on the original lineup, or the team may not use one in that game
• Both DH & fielder are starters and have re-entry privilege without losing the role of DH: either or both may be substituted for and re-entered once
• If either member of the DH/fielder combo plays the other role, the DH split lineup spot ends, and one player must perform both roles for the rest of that game (may be subbed for as usual)
• If the DH role terminates and the other player in the combo is a starter,  then he may use his re-entry to return in that spot of the lineup only

@maven condensed it nicely but try using that index card on the field. You have to KNOW the rule. It's not rocket science. Rocket Science is the NCAA DH rule. The most frequent (maybe once a year in my neck of the woods) error is to bring the DH in to pitch or field and put him in that players BO spot and leave the DH'd for player in the field. Both can't be on the field or batting order (1-9) at the same time.

You got that right.  I printed it off in about 10 font and it's still bigger than a a 3x5 card, 2-sided.
