Okay fellas, need top protection for my dollar

Lookin at, only amazon:

Nutty Buddy: no luck on amazon cept child sizes

Shock Doctor: flex models only:  bioflex $5 --- $15 ultra carbon flex $15 --- titan alloy flex $25

Is NB FAR AND AWAY MOR COMFY, or is SD comparable, in both protection and comfort. Want former and latter, but....latter is very important if you will decide to wear it for a second game!

Seems the NB looks weird in shape, but I'm sure that transforms to making a standout fit vs other designs or companies.

Having used both...

The NB is far more comfortable, in my opinion. The SD (and most conventional cups for that matter) had to be positioned just perfectly to be comfortable. That being said, the NB is different, and there are some discussions here from people who didn't find the NB as comfortable. To me, when I'm in the crouch, there's no real comfort difference. It's when I have to get up and run that I really like the floating style of the NB.

Either will protect your "boys" just fine.

On the down side, apparently they are becoming difficult to obtain. https://www.ump-attire.com/Umpire-Articles/Product-Alert-Regarding-Nutty-Buddy

I haven't used Shock Doc, but I've had plenty of other cups.  I have, and use, the NB and see no reason tot change.  It is more comfortable than anything else I've tried at this point.  They look weird-shaped, but once you wear it correctly, you forget it's on.

The only knock I've heard (and sometimes worry about) is what MadMax has mentioned about the hard edge of the cup biting into you if you get drilled.   But your boys are fine, just bruised in the groin area from the cup edge driving into your skin.   Of course, they fixed it by making a flex-styled cup now.  Get the flex!

My choice is the Nutty Buddy, ONLY if you find the perfect fit solution for your body.

I like the jock strap, as it provides a perfect, comfortable fit for ME. That may not be the case for everyone, though.

Try the Diamond MMA.  There are several videos of it being tested on YouTube. The owner of the company takes some kicks, sledge hammer shots, knees, nunchaku, punches while wearing it. Other fighters show themselves doing the same. $29.99 on amazon for the cup only.  Fits in any jock. Or you can buy either the compression shorts or the jocks the sell which look pretty cool too. I put mine in an underarmour jock and cover with nike or underarmour tights.  Works well.  Took a shot from a guy who got drafted a couple years ago in a MINK summer college wooden bat league in Missouri, was supposedly hitting mid 90's, and I did not feel a thing.  One video shows them shooting it with a 9mm and not puncturing the shell, just denting it.

I had a nutty buddy, second largest size.  Did not like it.  Very thin rubber around edges. Got hit.  Felt it.  For days. Got the Diamond.  Very comfortable.  Polycarbonate wrapped in rubber for flex.

Had the Titan Alloy Flex too.  Did not fit well.  Felt compressed and it shifted once pinching my sack. Did not like that at all.

Everyone has a favorite. Your decision will be what fits you and feels the best. I had a SD before I went to the NB, and for me, there's no comparison. The NB is the best, for me. The way it fits, it also provides more protection "underneath" for those foul balls that bounce in the dirt and come straight up and inevitably find their way right between your legs.

There's different "set-ups",  and people have their own opinions on how to wear the NB. For me, (from the "inside out") it's boxer briefs, (Hanes X-Temp are reasonably priced and I love their feel and comfort), NB cup, NB jock, and then compression tights. Not NB tights. Any brand compression works for me.  Comfortable, secure, and protective.

I'm amazed at some the hits I've taken and felt close to nothing.

Everybody's different. Try one. If you don't like it, maybe the other would be better. Both will protect. So in the end, it's what works best for you.
