A batted ground ball hits third base and shoots 90° into foul territory.  The ball initially hits the ground before hitting the base and does not continue past the base.  Is this ball fair or foul?

Any untouched batted ball that touches a base is fair.

Let's liven up the situation. Same batted ball strikes 3B and bounces sideways. Then:

1. The ball strikes the 3B coach, who had not moved, and it remains in play.
2. The 3B coach catches the ball, thinking it's foul.
3. The ball goes into the dugout untouched.
4. F5 tries to field the ball, but accidentally kicks it into the dugout.
5. The PU calls, "foul ball!"
6. Zombies emerge...never mind.

Without looking up....

1.  If the 3B coach is in foul territory, as long as he does not interfere intentionally, this is simply a play on situation. From the description, assumed not intentional.

2.  Intentional contact, but is it interference? Sounds like he potentially helped the defense. Probably kill it, tell him 'don't do that' and put B/R on first? This is the one that I'm least confident in the answer.

3.  2 base award, fair ball went out of play, same as any other ground rule double.

4.  Assuming ball had not yet come to rest, the hit provided the impetus so 2 base award from TOP. Otherwise, 2 bases from time of kick.

5.  Foul ball, can't undo this one. Prepare for discussion.
