I would think the batter, as the CR isn't "in the game" ....if that makes sense.  That being said, I'm probably wrong ....

Interesting question to begin with...

Whatever we choose, it applies universally to the situation so stolen bases would come under this realm as well.

CR's do still have to be eligible substitutes, but aren't used as subs by def'n.

Not covered specifically in the book, afaik.

 

So, unless there's some broader "FED Scoring  / Statistical Guidelines" somewhere, you can do what you want.

 

frankly, I'd give it to the person (CR) who actually accomplished the act.

Agree with noumpere. My "instincts" say treat the CR as you would any pinch runner.

The Game Changer app that I use to score my daughter's games records the CR and then gives the stats to that player for anything she does while in that designation. This app may not be the gold standard of scorekeeping, but it has been endorsed by many sanctioning bodies as the official scorekeeping program. My $0.02.
