Can anybody give me some numbers on what/how assigners typically get paid?

I have been approached by an organization that runs weekend tournaments around the country, including several in my immediate area.  I'd just like to get some idea what assigners and UIC's normally get paid.

I pay one assignor $3 for games up to $60 and a buck more for each $20 jump... IE a $90 game is $5 and an $80 game is $4.

Another assignor is $3 a game regardless.

One assigner I pay $70 a year no matter how many or few games. The other one bills the leagues/tournament director $4 a game, $5 if he pays the umpires instead of the league (lump sum payment  from the league/tournament director). I copied the second model for my assigning as I think it is more fair.

I worked USSSA for a couple of years where they charged $100 for the year, no matter how many games you got.  The assigner would take the money out of your first check, so he worked as many guys as he could early to get the money, but then gave the majority of the games to a select few after that.  I dropped him like a bad habit.

There's another assigner here that charges way more than is reasonable.  I think it's like $10 or $12 per game for 13U and above, and $15 per game for 12U and below.  It's all one man, and the gross pay is higher than most, but after his cut, the net is about average.  I wasn't too keen with him making that much off of my hard work, so I never agreed to work those games.

WAY too much.

Hell I know an assigner down here who charges $50 and then gives some guys 2 games.  Needless to say he's losing good umpires.  Known him to announce pay for a tournament and then change it in the middle of the tournament.  Also had an issue paying his umpires numerous seasons.

Ours gets 1.75 per game but we pay the first 60 up front except for the out of town guys we bring in every year, they just have the flat 1.75 per game. I doubt we have any umps that don't get enough games to cover the 60, I think I saw only a few under 50 games on the list. I'm sure UIC makes exceptions to the up front for some Umpires for those who wouldn't cover it.

I am glad I just pay a flat fee to every assigner I work for in every sport I work. I work enough games for each one that I come out pretty good.
