Visit to the mound

Was watching a Babe Ruth game last night. The catcher called time and went to the mound to talk to the pitcher. F3 and F5 tried to come in to the mound also. Field umpire said no infielders allowed unless the coach comes out to the mound. Never heard of that and don't see it anywhere in the rule book. The only place I see the book address visits to the mound is 8.06. I am on the board of directors for the league so I know it is not a by-law. Anyone else ever heard of this?

Some youth codes have (or had back when I did that level) some rule about "only 3 defensive players in a conference" or some such.

Sounds like it came from the Making Sh*t Up Umpiring School, which a few of my partners have also attended.

As noumpere said that was (is still?) an actual rule in one of the youth organizations. Somehow PONY pops into my head.

​That would make sense, since most of the youth ball I did was under that umbrella.  But, I took a quick look at the rules and couldn't find it anymore.
