I played it in HS (not well enough to get paid for it to attend college) and still like it.  So it doesn't come from that.

I played goalie in a intramural HS game once, wished I had my nutty buddy on. I coached my daughters in youth soccer, absent any knowledge of the sport, and firmly believe soccer has ruined many a good baseball player....

I played goalie in a intramural HS game once, wished I had my nutty buddy on. I coached my daughters in youth soccer, absent any knowledge of the sport, and firmly believe soccer has ruined many a good baseball player....

 

How can you coach a sport without knowledge?  And how can soccer ruin a baseball player?  Totally different muscle movements and memory.  Golf and baseball I can see .....

Oddly enough .......I too was a goaltender I did it because I was fairly good at it.

Although now that I realize you went to college on a soccer scholarship, it makes so much more sense that you don't seem to realize why anybody wouldn't want/need to go.

I was coerced into coaching. If I didn't coach, my daughter's wouldn't have a team to play on, and I was promised an experienced, good looking female assistant.
