So it bugs everyone when obstruction is called interference because it isn't the proper term.

Do you suppose construction folks get just as annoyed when concrete is called cement?

Yes, it does bother me, but I am a civil engineer. But maybe that is why I like umpiring because in both baseball and transportation engineering, everyone thinks they are an expert (but rarely are). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I kind of like it personally. I had a 3bc ask me, "wasn't that interference?" and I said, "no, your runner didn't do anything wrong", and walked away. Heard not one peep.

Rich, the difference is that I wouldn't consider myself an expert when asking the mason a question, whereas, the coach certainly feels he's an expert when asserting his opinion on INT/OBS.

I am the Safety Director for a concrete company, so I get to be annoyed by both!
