Hello Y'all,

Just checking in to see if any other members here are model railroaders. I model HO Scale 1913 San Antonio & Aransas Pass Ry, with roads around the Hill Country here in Texas. I scratch build my cars, and build wooden kits. Modeling helps me destress.

I'm curious to see if anyone else participates in the hobby?

Thanks,

Manny

I started to years ago but decided against it because of the room it was going to take up at the house.

I was. Then I got married and had kids. :)  Never had the room for a full layout, but I built a 10 x 2 1/2 section with a mainline and a few industrial sidings, circa mid-1950's style. Scratch built a few buildings, kit-bashed a few, and made plenty Cambell kits. Didn't scratch build any rolling stock, but bought quite a few undercoated cars and engines and painted, lettered and weathered them myself. Great hobby, but it can get fairly expensive.

I have some O guage stuff back in PA, from 1950s, 60s and 90s.  Little lead people.  I last ran them in 2001.  I will hand them off to my oldest son if he ever has kids!

My father handed down to me his Lionel set from 1947, mint condition, I have all the boxes, manuals etc...  Kids (youngest 5) are finally old enough not to break it, so it will be set up for Christmas this year.

I got started but unfortunately it got derailed by other projects. I hope to get back into it when I get more free time. This will probably be sometime in the spring.
