This is battery on a sports official. In FL, that is a 3rd degree felony, punishable by up to 5 years in prison, up to $5000 fine, or both.

Sad that we live in a time where a statute such as "simple assault at a sporting event in the presence of children under the age of 16" needs to exist. I'm not disputing that it's a good law to have in place, just that it's sad it needs to exist in the first place. Idiots gotta be idiots.
