Never been a Pujols fan per-se, but I gained alot of respect for him when he wouldn't allow folks to call him "The Man." He may have just been pandering to the St. Louis fan base, but I thought it was a great move when he said, "There's already 'The Man'." And that's why he is referred to as 'El Hombre'

First Earl and now Musial. I'm starting to fear for the rest of MLB legends!
Heros get remembered. Legends never die.

truly a sad day for baseball.......a real hero on the field and a gentleman off of it...........a man who served his country and never a scandal nor bad word spoken from him or about him........

the greats are passing......we need to cherish those left......aaron, mays, berra

Family rumor was my dad named me after Stan............he had a great year in '59.............I was always glad Enos Slaughter didnt have as good a year.....

As a St Louis Cardinals fan born and raised in St Louis, Stan was the man and Albert realized this and absolutely honored it. He didn't cater to the fan base about this. I did not get to see him play the game, but was always thrilled to hear stories about his heroics. The most underrated player in baseball. And he was an even better man.
