I don't have too much of a problem with Posey beating Braun, the lying little weasel shouldn't have even played 50 of the games this year.

Cabrera won the triple crown. It is one of the rarest events in baseball. There have been more perfect games than triple crown winners. Just because of that he deserves to win. I am NOT saying that he is a better player than trout.

MVP= All 5 tools

Triple Crown= Batting

If you were building a team today, would you rather have Trout or Cabrera on it?

Where do they get these people who vote on this. No way in hell you can convince me posey beats Braun or Cabrera beats trout. No way no how..

Braun didn't win because of the cloud that followed him from last offseason and the fact the Brewers did not make the playoffs. Cabrera won because he did something no one has done in 45 years and Trout won ROTY (also, the playoff comment, Tigers made it, Angels did not).

MVP does NOT = 5 tools .....

It's the MOST VALUALBE PLAYER to any one team. Why is it so hard to figure that out guys? It's not difficult.

He won, get over it. It's the same award every year for ages, voted on by the same people, etc, etc, etc .....

AND BTW ...it wasn't even close in the voting .......

I will agree to disagree with you and the sportswriters who voted for MC. Y'all are all wrong. I'm right. As usual. :D

While the MVP voters --- almost all old-school newspaper journalists --- went for Cabrera, the "Moneyball" guys in baseball seem to be *overwhelmingly* in agreement with Jocko. They say Trout contributed more to his team than anyone else contributed to their teams, including Cabrera.

These guys include Nate Silver, for example. Silver wrote an article in advance of the MVP vote called, "The Statistical Case Against Cabrera for MVP." The article presented the case for Trout using relatively new measures of productivity, instead of BA, RBIs, and HRs. Silver's article also discussed stolen bases and defense, which are decidedly in favor of Trout. The article is at http://fivethirtyeight.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/11/14/the-statistical-case-against-cabrera-for-m-v-p/

I personally think this statistical freak-show that analyzes baseball within an inch of its life is getting a little too much.

What's next, ... if a player doesn't shave for 3 days he tends to hit better??

Come on already ......

One note from the article JHSump posted ..... "Trout , who hits to all fields ...." Oh, ok, Cabrera doesn't ?! :shakehead:

Here's the deal for me:

You're an owner, ... answer the following question:

Do you want;

1) Trout leading off in center

2) Cabrera hitting 3rd at 3rd

I'll take (2) all day long. And no, it's not that I don't like Trout and it's not because I live in the Detroit area.
