Either that, or there was a lot going on with trying to watch the glove and the touch of 1B and he missed which happened first. Always tough when a runner slides into a base (any base not just 1B). He missed it and the game should have just gone on. But, I wonder what the EJ was for. It looked like BR had something to say just before he walked off. I always like the "What did I say/do" with their hands in the air. Then, the stupid fans and announcers jump in on it. If he kept his mouth shut and his fingers from pointing at umpires, nothing happens.

I expect those kind of antics from children but not supposed adults. But, I guess that is what you keep doing when you never take on responsibility for your actions/words.

He should of gone to PU for help. lol.

Pretty much impossible to get a good angle to see if there was a tag on the back / hip while also watching the hand hit the base and be ready for either of two players to touch the base for a so-called force at first.

In this case would a greater distance be of help? That way you can switch from glove to BR's hand/base without much movement of the eyes --- everything is almost in the same view to begin with.

I know you should be closer for tags than for a standard force play at 1B. But just asking what might have helped in this case.

PU would have no help in this play... where the tag was and if his hand was touching the base.... PU wouldnt be of any help... On this play.

That's why the lol of course. If it happens at any of our games that's the first thing out of the offenses mouth "get some help" and way too many umpires would oblige.

The announcers are complete morons. They covered every stupid statement in the litany of announcing, quick hook, getting his money's worth, West is ridiculous, everything. The fact was he came up, stuck his finger in the umpire's face, no telling what he said and got dumped. He must of not realized he got tossed, which is why he came back out at West, then Mr. Rat came and also got dumped. Looked completely kosher to me.
