cursor making font changes

Here's one that drives me nuts.

When you're going to type a response to a post, ...just having the cursor hovering over either the BOLD, or ITALIC, or STRIKE THROUGH key will cause your font to change to that mode ?!?!?

Why??

You should at least have to click it in order to change your font, ...yes?

Are you on a laptop? If so, a very light touch of a second finger will cause it to select. Actually the lighter it is the quicker it does it. I find myself changing the zoom feature often.

I've had it happen - but not consistently.

I really really hate the copy/pase inserting strange font sizes and then inhibiting the ability to change them.

I've definitely had the issue with the formatting...which is why this post is underlined. I kid you not, I went to reply and the underline got turned on.

I've just tried again and can't re-create the issue. I just did another software update this week, lets see if that helps - but this issue is not on any bug tracker for the s/w or on the issues resolved on the update list.

I'll keep trying. :shrug:

I am using seven and chrome and haven't seen this problem. I was trying to see if it was following a particular OS and browser.

Windows 7 and IE8. Maybe it's an IE issue...

it all depends on where your cursor ends up after you hit "reply" ....not quote, but reply ...if it lands on something, it'll effect the font

I have Vista with IE8 (not by choice on both!) and cannot get it replicate, even with what Jeff said above.
