Saw it when it happened and my first thought was "Welcome". My wife was upset with it. DUH!! Definitely old school---but I don't know how Hamels thought this intro was appropriate. Enjoyed the steal of home immensely. Harper gave it right back. Good OLD FASHIONED BASEBALL. Unfortunately, Hamels mouth will cost his team. The flip side of this is I have to admit I like Hamels' stones for admitting it. If you do the crime....

Don't worry, Hamels punishment is a joke also and he will not miss a start since there is an off-day in between his 5 day suspension which he is starting immediately.

Zimmermann would want to know how anyone knows whether it was intentional or not, as would Hamel if he had not come out and admitted it.

How can an umpire know what the pitcher is thinking? Isn't that their argument, Are you a mind reader?? when they get tossed or warned????

Yep. So it's okay if they lie and say the pitch got away from him...but tell the truth and he gets suspended. Odd world we live in.

I don't give Hamels any credit for admitting he did it...to me, big deal. I give him some credit for doing it in the NL, where he knows HE will have to bat and He will have to take the retaliation, instead of one of his teammates in the AL.

It is old school...welcome to the show hyped rookie. However, I also have to give credit to Harper for how he dealt with the HBP and his comments afterwards. Also, since acting like an idiot in MiLB, he has apparently listened to someone on his team about how he should act in MLB. He has done nothing except hustle and work hard.
