A thing I loved that a veteran partner said:

After a coach was warned to STFU, my partner walked over to this Filipino guy in a V-neck burgundy sweater vest, and said, "If he says one more word, go start the bus."

That's a damn good one. Wish I were that bad ass.

I had a good F2 recently that replied to a remark a coach made from the dugout.

Working one man.

R2 steal 3rd F2 makes a good throw but runner is in Safe on a head first slide.

I call and signal the runner safe.

Coach from dugout "Come on Blue he was out".

F2 "Coach I had the same view the Blue did, he was safe".

As we settle back behind the batter for the next pitch, I told him that was a good come back to the coach.

He says "He was safe, I don't know what he is complaining about, I got your back Blue".

I love a smart and good F2 :notworthy:

A coach was complaining about pitches in a game he was getting killed in. After answering two or three "where's that" questions the PU told the coach he was not going to give him a topographic description of every pitch.

Once after a very bad inning of baseball:

Coach: How many outs, blue?

Me: Should be 5 outs.

Outstanding!

I know I've thought that one a thousand times................

I was at a clinic a few years ago and the clinician tells the story of an exhibition game he was doing between Montreal Expos and Toronto Blue Jays (Pearson Cup). Of course both teams had a lot of players from the minors in the line up. Well the Toronto pitcher put one knee high on the outside corner of the plate and of course it was called a strike. The batter, a minor league player called up for the game said "come on blue I would need a six foot bat to hit that pitch". Ernie Whit who was catching for Toronto replied "That's why your still in the minors kid" It took about five minutes to get the game going again the umpire was laughing so hard.
