Customized All-Star

The only real complaint I have had about my All-Star System 7 was the neck opening. The part that gave me the most trouble was right below the chin. So I got out my multi-tool and here are the results. I really think I am going to like it a lot better now. Much more comfortable and I really don't think I am sacrificing protection.

You can adjust the shoulder caps. Take out the padding in the cap and you'll see the strap. If you loosen it the caps will drop down more. My problem with this CP is that it tends to ride up on me and I'm pulling it down from the neck opening. Trying to solve that problem...

I have done the shoulder cap thing. I have a wide short neck. This fix really seems to have done the trick for me. The protector has more give around the throat. It now feels like my Douglas or WV Gold. I will wear it tonight or tomorrow and test it out, but from just wearing it around the house I really think I will like this slight mod.

I'm guessing he's talking about a Dremel. Interesting, let us know how it fits. I'm not at the point of modifying my rig yet but I might consider this if the neck doesn't get better down the road.

No. The loosening of the shoulder is not the caps, but the shoulders themselves. When you take the padding out of the shoulder, those straps loosen the shoulders, dropping them a bit ...

The "riding too high" problem is solved (for me) by loosening the back harness straps up high ....this allows the CP to sit quite high, but not too restrictive
