MLB Shirts with no pocket

Does anyone know if they make a umpire shirt like MLB is wearing without the pocket on the front. I watched a Spring Training game today and the base umpires shirts did not have a pocket on the front!

I think we've talked about this before, and as simple as it seems, I guess the concept of mass manufacturing multiple sizes with different variations (small w/pocket, small w/out pocket; medium w/pocket, medium w/out pocket - you get the drift) is too difficult for manufacturers such as Majestic, Smitty, Honig's, etc... If they're just doing it for the big boys, they may only have to make 100-200 total for those guys, and not thousands of them to outfit umpires all across the country(ies).

I, like you, wish they would make them without the pocket for the bases, but I feel that is wishful thinking. I never have anything in it while on the bases, but that is just me.

I thought the new polo blue was pretty ugly.. i did like the black collar..

I've never tried it, but if you were to get a new shirt, and remove the pocket with a thread puller, wash it and throw it in the dryer, voila! You now have the same shirt that the big boys wear! I would think that would work just as well as one that didn't have a pocket sewn on, since all it is is a piece of fabric sewn onto the ouside of the shirt. It probably wouldn' t look so hot on a shirt that is used, due to fading, but a new one would be fine.

As much as I hate to admit it, I have enough shirts now without adding another round of no pocket shirts. I'm fine with the current "standard".

I agree, the last thing I need at this point is another shirt. The pockets are not that noticeable.
