New MLB umpire shirts

I have not owned one of the old powder blue shirts in almost 3 years. Just dont have it. If my partner doesnt have black, polo or cream (dont have red or gray) then we go with Navy. (I dont mind wearing navy on the plate so much anymore after getting an Ultimate Umpire Shirt from Jim last year... I wonder why that is :-) )

Last year a senior partner called for the powder. So I dug it out and brought it along.

Personally, I like the fact that the security guard recognized the differences in what we wear.

Well I find it unfortunate that a talented kid like Crosby sees it necessary to drop F-bombs like that.

He's young, but I hope he grows out of that habit of using such ignorant, filthy language.

Lest anyone thinks I'm overly sensitive about this, I will tell you that I served in the US Navy for 10 years, and used language like this pretty frequently and rather mindlessly. Foul language is not impressive, and the bad news about Crosby doing this is that there are millions of young kids who have placed Crosby on a pedestal, who look up to him as a hero, someone to emulate.

That's pretty sad.

Would you want your kids talking like this and thinking it's acceptable?

I interviewed ballplayers and managers rather extensively for radio broadcast purposes. When a guy lets it fly like that, it's so the reporter with the microphone can't use the sound on the air. So it's a way of telling the reporter to eff off without saying it to him. ... Not that it ever happened to me, you must know.
