Those of you that said the zippers are for replacing the "New" cool pack technology get the cupie doll. There is an article out there (I'll try and see if I can locate it) that MLB umpires are/have endorsed the cool packs and are asking Majestic to install zippers as a way to swap them during games. I have not been able to find a Majestic produced shirt with zippers so it makes sense that these are after market mods. made by the umpires choosing to use the technology.

It does crack me up though that it seems Majestic seems to redesign their shirts each season. I guess all of us equipment junkies need something to buy! I should have been a shirt manufacturer. :question1:

What's your point, Chris? As others have said, they're after-market. If you want zippers, get a tailor to put it on.

I will say this one more time... when I was at PBUC this year ( 2011) Gary Cederstrom told us the MLB umps have had there shirts custom made just for these cooling pads. They are not after market zippers put in there shirts.. I have listen to about 4 MLB umps talk about this.

Then let's change "after-market" to "custom-made".

BTW the shirts were made for all of the umps.

BTBTW, those shirts, zippers or not, are still ugly.

They are hideous, and the zippers make them all the more goofy. The black shirts aren't bad, but the blue ones are awful.
