I did not get a close look at the shins, but I did notice a difference form the older versions. Instead of being lined with vinyl covered padding, The new ones are lined with nylon over the padding similar to what is on my Wilson gold triple knees. I really like them. I am happy with the Wilson, but if I were in the market this year I would consider the Honig's I like the plastic buckles they use so there is not rust.

For what its worth, with the move to a colder climate here in Portland than I am used to, I have considered buying the new jacket with the cut off sleeve option. Im slowly starting to get used to the look and think it would be a good choice here for me.

My wife asked me to go with her on a business errand in Long Beach Ca. yesterday and I agreed on one condition: We swing by Honig's on the way. This was my first ever visit to Honig's ...grabbed a couple of pairs of Poly-wools (1 plate, 1 base,) A Black fitted hat and, even picked up a back up mask (K-95 pro-line single bar mask w/calfskin pads) ...nice haul!... ABUA discount helped.

I should add that I also took a brief look at both the Zero gravity and 2010 K1 CPs. They certainly are light but I would be inclined to think that, while they are surely lighter and perhaps more comfortable, they are not as substantial as The Wilson hard shells. That being said, Honig's (especially the K1) seem to have plenty of users as high as the collegiate level, including D-1. It would be interesting to see in a few months when there is a more representative sample to get more feedback on the Zero gravity. At present the price point of 144.00 seems excessive.

Yeh but that puts it right in the same price point at a Gold or Platinum CP. I just do not see the same protection level between the Wilson CPs and the new Zero Gravity... or the 2010 K1.

I have a L/XL that i dont wear anymore after getting my Douglass vest.. it feels much better Than the West vest.. so if any one wants i will sell it.. I only used it for one season.

The Majestics are generous, but not quite as generous as OC. The XL OC is looser around the gear than the Majestic XL. The Majestic umpire shirt is about one-half a size larger than a normal XL golf shirt and the OC is more like a full size larger.
