I have gone on diets before but I never have stuck with them this long. I started 6/6/11 at 310lbs and I am now at 290. I have been hitting the gym and counting calories. I foun this great sit called myfitnesspal.com. It has helped a tone. I have found other umpires on here an have added them as friends. One of them has lost over 100lbs and he looks great.

The reason I tell you this I because in an effort to be the best I can be on the baseball field. I have started this mission. I want to be the best I can be because I love ut so much!

Burn baby Burn!!!!

And

Don't suck! ;-)

Congratulations. Keep up the good work. One of the criteria that umpires are judged on at Texas State Tourny is physical appearance. Do they look fit? Uniform sharp? I know a VERY good ump that called the finals last year and he was gigged in the evaluations as being overweight. He is not that large either. Guess it is the small things that evaluators look for when seperating the best from the rest. I actually got my weight down this year to 170 pounds. Graduated in 1979 and it was 173. To many late nights this year without eating.

Weight loss is one of the best things you can do to improve virtually every aspect of your life.

Congratz on your huge success and best wishes on the rest of your journey.

Might I also suggest a bike for cardio work. easier on the knees. I'm 51 and ride 20 miles daily. sometimes i get a wild hair and do 30 - 35. I am also 6'2" and currently weigh 175. January of this year I was 185- 190#.

Keep up the great work. Your legs will feel incredibly strong after you reach your goal. since they have been carrying 310 around for awhile.

I've lost about 15 pounds since last year, and I can attest there are some aspects of my life that's gotten a lot better. *wink, wink*

Congrats Cajun...keep it going!!

I've seen too many pictures of me this season, and I'm done. Next weekend is a fun weekend for me w/ my brother and his kids, so ....after that ....I'm going to go on a late summer-early fall weight loss session and see how much I can lose! I want to be in better shape, and look better for next season!! May as well start now , eh?!

And Andrew ...wink-wink, what?? :notworthy:

If you have an iPhone 3gs or 4g the myfitnesspal.com is great for helping track you loss and gain. Tracking calorie intake is easy and there is a hole support group of people doing the same thing. Good luck, start tracking noe so you know what your normal in take is. God speed Blue!

I use the myfitnesspal app on my Droid. I, myself, have about 30 libbies to drop before I consider myself totally ready for next season. I had my hip replaced in April, so, I attribute some of the weight gain to my inactivity since then. I've been umpiring for about a month now and I'm slowly but surely dropping the pounds. So, I think it's going to be a good off-season!! Bring on next Spring!!!!!

Way to go, Cajun! Keep up the good work!!!!!
