umpiring in my sleep

so im not sure if this is funny or just wierd but maybe im not the only goof ball out there. so this saturday I did five games 14u tournament. It was a long hot day and when it was over I needed a shower and a good supper.

Saturday night im laying in bed, legs hurt, feet hurt back hurts you know the the drill. Im half awake half asleep and kind of dreaming about a ball game. play at first base and I make no call, the coach comes out and he is up my but for not calling the batter runner out and i tell him " BUT COACH IM TRYING TO SLEEP " then i realize im standing on the field in my t-shirt and gym shorts that i sleep in then I woke up and realized that I was in fact in bed.

I think I need a vacation.

Am I the only one out there with that kind of goof ball story ?

it happens to me sometimes...

in my dreams i can do nothing right: i call stikes when the players are trying to intentionally walk a batter, infield flys with no one on, and foul balls on balls hit over the fence.

i dont know why it happens, but it is strange. you wake up and realize that you are in bed and haven't made a fool of yourself.

I think if we are all truthful we all have these dreams about games we have called or calls we have made that follow us to sleep. Five games in a day is a little much for me so I know once you went to sleep you slept well.

Funny you should ask: last night I dreamed I was in C and a ground ball shot toward me. before I knew it, my legs shot straight up in bed: I guess I tried to jump over it. I almost fired the dog across the bedroom.

I shot my daughters cat across the room on something like that....cat was sleeping at the end of the bed.....I guess I moved my foot, the cat pounced and sunk his claws into my foot.....the subsequent catapult ....(pun intended)..was hilarious......cat flew a good 20 feet.......

"Upon further review, the umpire on the field was exercising good, qualitative, game management techniques with proper utilization and demonstration of appropriate safety equipment and related hardware! Therefore the umpire on the field should exercise due caution when awakening from this event that he does not disturb or cause harm to be administered to himself should the sleeping giant beside awaken also and immediately demand to know just who in the h**l these said MILFs may be!

I don't know about umpiring in my sleep, but I think there was a couple of slow-pitch games I umpired while sleeping.
