Wow....

I'm a Sox man but after freeze framing the pitch that got 'tek tossed--it still looks way out to me:home:...UNLESS-- they had been getting them all night and it certainly didn't sound like it from the comments..

I haven't seen the plays but Google news must have 100 different articles about it. Jerry Lane (The CC) said after the game "Varitek took one for the team and to keep the Becket in." The Boston Fans/ writers seem to be much more upset, one of the Minnesota papers has the headline, "Ump an equal-opportunity ejector"

There's also a lot of umpire hating BS out there about the call and how Tichenor "is only a minor leaue umpire" and other such garbage.

Unfortunately I can't view video from work so I cant comment on the plays....

Heck, I know we are brothers, but I think the College World Series ump last night in the Alabama game should have gotten tossed....

I too think Varitek (spelling butchered) did that for Beckett, who was about to come out of his shoes...... It was a series of pitches not just one...

Can you explain or do you have video? I'm curious as to why......nothing more.

Beckett tends to get HOT fast, have see it in Miami and now in Boston. The captain, who I actually like Varitek, was trying to diffuse and have him step in for Beckett, ie toss me and not him. Saw the game, no video.

As for Redmond (twins), he got him, and he usually is pretty calm...but I too would have loved to hear that conversation.
