  4. Try 40 mph winds, no sun in Nebraska on top of a hill. It was last year and thank god I was dishing, temperature 32degreess. I asked why are we playing and the HS said because we are on a winning streak. Whoa no arms by the end of a short season. My partner froze his "A" off and we thought it was over and just needed one out. Then the home team scored ten runs to tie it up in the bottom of the 5th. We played 7 innings, it was brutal and wound up 18-11. We actually had snow, sleet and still played last year. It looks like another bad spring. There will be no games until April with all the snow we have on the ground this year. Ump6
  5. A little soap and water in a spray bottle. I use hair spray after they dry. Leaves a nice shine for a couple of innings. We will not be calling balls/strikes for a while, due to the amount of snow on the ground. The HS Season will be probably short! UMP6 Location Omaha College World Series New Stadium
  6. This is why I do very little fall ball. These kids still need an umpire, but it is usually not their original playing positions on the field. Little Johnny is the full back or wide receiver at football practice, that is usually the catcher. Be patient and gear up properly. I know in our area, I usually drop it down a level to avoid from getting clocked. We have some highschool fall ball and some of these kids never make the team during the regular season and dad is the coach. He wants his son still to become a catcher. Sometimes these kids can not catch a cold!!
  7. Anyone take part 2 NFHS 2009 softball exam? Ump6
  8. Any luck with part 2 NFHS softball 2009?

  9. Your partner should not yell foul. The players and coaches should be well trained on an infield fly situation also. There is nothing wrong with announcing infield fly, if fair. I would not get in a habit, but the wind can also play tricks on the ball.
  10. We are getting $42 JV and< and $52 Varsity in parts of Nebraska. $35 Youth UMP6
  11. Do you have part 2 baseball 2009
