Nope. Saw all kinds of "non calls" and no challenges today. Unreal. and NOT all the Umps faults. You must have missed seeing the Hawaii ambidextrous pitcher with a sleeve on pitching arm and changing arms while pitching.

Ha! Yeah, LL is real good at “sidestepping” rather than going “head first” to get it right at times 🤣🤪

The only way to resolve this issue / question is to contact Williamsport via email and directly and specifically name the game, the play, and the call as to why that call was or was not correct. You’ll probably hear back from Cathy Lusk or Tom Rollins. Post the response when you get it. 😊

Ya gotta love some of these "commentators" (??). I'm paraphrasing a few remarks: " . . . pitchers have to adjust to each umpires' strike zone . . . I guess this one wants some part of the ball over the plate" . . . " it was called a fair ball because the 3rd baseman was standing in fair territory" . The ball was rolling up 3rd base line just on the outside edge of the foul line and touched by the fielder. From the viewing angle shown, IMO, the call could have gone either way but was called fair. It's the remark that was made. 🙂 Where do they get these people??? . . . and I wonder if they get paid to "commentate" ?

As some of you do, you jump to conclusions. I in no way made any insinuation towards the Umps! They were very good the game I watched and I was told the other crew was also very good. I think Tborze has an acceptable insight . . . "Defense".

This is a strange request for your opinions please. Watched a LL Sr. Girls SB. First night, game went 7 innings and ended with an 18 to 17 win. Next night, same two teams, same pitchers, different Ump crew. Game went 5 innings with final score 19 to 0 and the opposite team winning. What are your opinions on the possibilities of why such a drastic(?) difference in games. ? . . . PS, I did not see the second game, just heard about it. TIA 🙂

All Sports Officials need to stop ALLOWING THEMSELVES to become victims of abuse and assaults. PERIOD. To hell with "we're supposed to be professionals" when the circumstances dictate otherwise. 😞

In today's world, there is no "safety in numbers". People don't want to get involved. For every good deed there is usually a regrettable outcome 😞

IMO Ad companies in sports are nothing more than pimps and whores, but that pays a lot for the ridiculous owner and players salaries. It's all about the $$$$$$$$$$$$$. 😞

All I can offer is this: Hydrate well before, during, and after a game. Think about using these: Cooling Towel w/ "Florida Water", FROZEN Cooling Pacts w / vest. The pacts have lasted 3 +/- hrs. in 90+ temps. . . . PS, I wore this gear for testing while working on farm so pants, aren't part of the uniform 🙂

The key wording here is "does not automatically exclude you from applying for a Regional or WS." You can put in an application but the odds of it getting anywhere is between 0 and zero. Politics and $+ rule LL.

Yeah Jeff, it's something for some of us to think about. My honest soul searching is reminding me this: God, Country, and Family first. "To thine own self be true, for a man that stands for nothing will usually fall for anything."

Aging_Arbiter, I'm a Vet also and your words were really my first thoughts and why I asked for opinions. . . . "but I don't know if I'd stay if that happened in a LL game. Sometimes, honest soul searching is an eye opener."

Has anyone had the youth players kneel during the NA at the game during lineups? If so, what did you think, did you address it, or handle it otherwise? Is it our place to do anything? TIA :-)

Is this what you're ref too: Official Baseball Rules: Home (umpirebible.com) Rule 5.09(a)(2) Comment: "Legally caught" means in the catcher's glove before the ball touches the ground. It is not legal if the ball lodges in his clothing or paraphernalia; or if it touches the umpire and is caught by the catcher on the rebound. If a foul tip first strikes the catcher's glove and then goes on through and is caught by both hands against his body or protector, before the ball touches the ground, it is a strike, and if third strike, batter is out. If smothered against his body or protector, it is a catch provided the ball struck the catcher's glove or hand first.
