  1. I have a fairly new pair of All Star shins, but I think I'm going to go ahead and get the package. I'm on ABUA, but I didn't see where to get the package at the discount? Anyone have an idea?
  2. Will do, Jax...not!
  3. After many hours of reading posts on this and other forums around the web I've decided to take the plunge and invest in an Unequal chest protector. I have lost a significant amount of weight and I would like that to extend to my gear...I have a first generation West Vest Gold and a Champion hard shell too, but I really like the idea of a lower profile CP...
  4. I just visited TOC site and I do like the look of the navy blue shirts, but I'm wary of ordering from him because of the negative feedback posted. I sent an email asking about the availability, so if they respond with before mid March I may give him a shot.
  5. @Jax - I kinda thought it might be a booger to fold up...but for 30 dollars give or take it seems like a good investment in modesty...lol
  6. @JaxRolo - Is the Officials Locker Room as convenient as it looks? Is the material strong enough to last a few seasons? Thinking about getting one for this season. I do a lot of small school games where there aren't a lot of changing facilities for us.
  7. For what it's worth (.02) it depends on what your goals are as an umpire. For example, are you looking to umpire long term and to work lots of games and move up to better levels of baseball? If so, then I would recommend getting the best equipment that you can comfortably afford, including uniforms and footwear, the investment will take a season or so to pay for itself, but it is worth it. If, however, this is a part time gig and not too long term, go as cheap as you can without compromising your safety. There is enough good used stuff out there that you can set yourself up without breaking the bank too badly...Best of luck!!
  8. Anyone use Tommie Copper? Knees or other wear? Thinking about trying them.
  9. High school baseball here in Missouri is pretty standard in how umpires are paid - usually have to wait around 30 days or so to get paid. Summer ball, however can be frustrating!
  10. I too agree that the blank hat is not very professional looking. I umpire high school baseball and summer baseball (to include some American Legion and travel ball), and I would like to see Missouri adopt the state initials on the hat (MSHSAA) along with the patch that they have us wear on the shoulder. Numbers are obsolete, but I do think that stitching on the caps for high school look so much better than the blank look.
  11. Glad to help! Rex is a great guy! I have one and you'll love it!
  12. Shouldn't your headline read "Nutty Buddy Saves My Rocks"?
  13. I can't because he doesn't have the pic on his site...I was just there last week and I can vouch that last week he had a bunch! They are the right harness...give him a call 417-366-1255...tell him Trevor told you to call!
  14. between the lines officials gear, GREAT GUY and a fellow brother in blue! btlofficialsgear.com
  15. Thanks mbkcoach, mine is older and the buckles have some rust, might make a good candidate for a TW retrofit or as a backup rig...
  16. I'm looking for a West Vest XL size...5'10", 240 and my old WV is a bit too small. Would like to find someone who might want to trade, as my funds are a bit low...
  17. @umpcoachfather...pretty much what was in both of our minds. He is one of these coaches that feels like it's his god given right to argue everything. When did coaches go from asking questions to demanding answers? I will answer questions all day long, but I'm getting fed up with coaches who think they can argue and rant without impunity...It's an epidemic here in SW Missouri.
  18. Thanks, Fellas!
  19. Situation: 2 out, bases empty. Ground ball to short, I'm the PU so I'm heading up the first base line, partner is moving from A slot to watch/rule on the safe/out at first. Runner is not out of the baseline or in fair or foul territory, he's literally running on the baseline, first baseman is positioning himself to receive the throw and does. The B/R crosses the bag and at the same time the first baseman having received the throw his body moves toward the B/R and there is contact. The OTHC (who was winning 10-0 at the time and was chirping all game) demands to know why either my partner or I didn't call INT on the first baseman. My partner saw no INT, and neither did I. The contact occurred AFTER the ball was caught and the B/R was called out. I told the OTHC that while there was contact there wasn't a penalty that made sense, since there was no MC by the B/R, and the first baseman was simply reacting to the momentum of the throw that moved him slightly backward into the bag when the contact occurred. What do you got? Thanks!
  20. @tcasterlin are you sure they will fit you? XXL on the dish and XL on the bases...
  21. I am interested in all but the ASA shirt. Offer is 10 a piece including shipping to Missouri.
  22. not to get too far off topic, but I took a straight shot off of my mask (Diamond iX-3) and my black TW pads absorbed the blow great! Varsity game, pitch around 80-82 or so and the blow knocked the throat protector off the mask...I'm so glad I made the switch!
  23. JV legion last night, R3 barrels F2 leading with the shoulder up the line from the plate. Out on the tag, ejected on the MC, no words from anyone. R3 came up to me and apologized, I told him it was nothing personal and if he learned from it that was what was most important.
  24. Just ordered the black TW pads for my Diamond Ix-3...
