I have my PIAA test on Monday. I've been studying like crazy for this thing. I've actually never really had to try to do well on tests. This one however is my white whale. I'm a teacher and on Friday we have a field trip. I volunteered to stay back with the detention kids so that I can study all day. Plus it got me bonus points with my other teachers.

Same here AJ...I'm a Principal. I'm also a teacher. Last year I coached in the district and leaving early for games was allowed. However, I'm umpiring this year and I was wondering, from a principal's view, would you be ok if someone left a little early for games on occasion?

Im joining because I need some new stuff and I am going to go to the Mid American Clinic in September. The membershio will more than pay fr itself. Plus this site rocks and I'd like to support it.

I just bid on a pair and next week I'm upgrading to the wv cp. I currently have a big champion I think. It's good but bulky as hell.

Wouldn't it be treated the same as catchers interference, and the runners would be placed either back or where the umpire felt they would have gotten without the interference.

It's a bad move. They already have a power hitting first baseman. They tried moving Cabrerra to third and outfield before and it didn't work. They are spending 45 million on one position. Plus I don't think Prince is going to have the drive to work hard with that kind of a contract. He's going to get fatter and lazier.

I just got mine in the mail today. I've been browsing through it and the quality doesn't seem bad. I was afraid that when I got it the pages would be falling out and there would be hand drawn diagrams. Yeah 70 bucks is high but it's sold to a very small market and thats generally what happens. SI is 20 bucks for a year subscription and its a bi-weekly magazine where as Referee is 50 bucks for a monthly magazine.

I really thought that this was a pretty harmless question. I can't believe the debate. It's good advice but I have to wear a Navy hat and either a navy or powder shirt. I think black would look bad with a navy hat, even though my belt and shoes are black.

Ideally, should your ball bags match your pants or shirt? For example if you are wearing Charcoal and navy, which color ball bag is more appropriate?

I didn't mean to memorize them. I have been studying off of the practice test that they sent me and it just happened. That's why I wanted another test to actually gauge what I know. I was able to go to a chapter meeting tonight and just hearing the rules interpreter was amazingly helpful. Now only if I could go to 10 more I would maybe feel comfortable.

Is there any online places to take a practice test. I've been studying like crazy and used the practice test that they sent me but I already have every answer memorized. I just want more practice to know ho well I know the rules. I have another 2 weeks until my test.

Just a quick update. I still haven't gotten any DVD's and I got a message on facebook offering his new Dvd's again. These are the same Dvd's that aren't finished. Plus when I called to ask about getting an additional new DVD, since I already owened his others and the compensation for not having the new one was a choice of any old dvd, he just offered a membership to his website. I restated that I already am a memeber and that nothing new has been posted for the year that I would prefer a new dvd whenever it is finished. I am defenitely finished doing business with him but unfortunately he already owes me a DVD or my money back. What a shame.

I do agree that generally people look more professional clean shaven. I don't understand the crook of the mouth down. I don't feel that a mustache is more appropriate than a beard or goatee. I would be inclined to follow directions because this is a voluntary hobbie that we have and basically we can go elsewhere. However, at 31 I still only grow hair on my neck so if I don't shave I just look Amish or Homeless so it's a non-issue for me.

I just ordered for myself a new Pronine pro bag (like the Diamond), New Balance base shoes, new socks, a cap case, and the Jim Evans Manual. I also joined Umphub which so far I really like and I hope they add more soon becasue I'm done with the videos already. Hohoho I love Umpire Claus.

Refuse the substitution, stating F1 was removed because of a fourth defensive conference. B. Allow F1 to pinch hit for anyone. C. Allow the action. F1 may return to any position. D. Allow the action provided F1 does not return to pitch, is in his original position in the batting order and has not previously used his re-entry

I have a study guide but there are a few questions that I can't find in the book. Please help. It is umpire interference when: A. the plate umpire bumps a catcher attempting to throw out a runner B. The umpire collides with a runner and that runner is tagged out (I figure it is but can't find it specifically in the rule book) C. Both A and B D. Niether A or B (obviously not D because A defenately is)

I would like to use poly-wools since everyone on here say they are the best. However, we still use heather grey and I haven't found any poly-wools in heather gray and PIAA is probably swithing to Charcoal soon.

I signed up and have watched a few videos. Now remember Im a new umpire and I feel that the information has been very helpful. I also agree that you should call the play as best you can and give no biased towards who "beat" who. The videos are great quality and there are alot up now.

Great looking site. I am joining for 6 months today. Hopefully they do update or there is enough material for at least that long already there. It is way better quality than Umpireteacher.
