Anybody planning on attending the 2011 International Umpires camp in Atlanta this October? If so, I can save you some money on tuition. I was all set to go to the southern camp in Feb. and, due to circumstances beyond my control, I was unable to attend. I have a 325.00 deposit that i would be happy to transfer to somebody for 260.00...(20% savings). PM me if interested.

I have a silver Honig's K-4 frame that I like very much. It is light enough, has a terrific view, and, after i got used to the look of the cap guard... looks pretty cool as well. I had Wendy pads in it ...and the Wendy pads are very nice, but, in this frame, nothing fits and feels as nice as the Wilson traditional, (non- wraparound) pads. They just seem to fit my ugly mug perfectly.

I have ordered from these guys before and everything went very smoothly. This may be a drop-shipped item which adds a couple of days to the hipping time but, its the best price out there. Alternatively, try Rex at between the Lines, he will price match, i believe. I think he may also drop ship. Any experience with them?

What happened to your review?

My first scrimmage is this Saturday...Last Saturday was cancelled due to rain. First game is scheduled for the 5th.

Got mine yesterday, ordered the EBRD as well.

Jax.... how was the camp? I was all set up to go, but ,had to cancel my trip due to unforeseen work complications.

Pete appears to use a simple Fair or Foul criteria, with Fair = positive, and Foul = negative. It probably should not be read as Fair = middle of the road, average, or so-so. In my reading of his reviews, Fair is a generally positive statement. In this case with some observations to be aware of.

Nice review Pete. I have a set of the Wendy's pads, and I like them very much. While firm they are very comfortable. The cloth/ microfiber material that they use is, in my opinion, more comfortable than any of the other pads of the moisture wicking/ cloth/ microfiber genre. Having said that, the construction issue you raise is something to be aware of. My set shows some signs of the stitching being strained and I will be interested to see how durable the pads prove to be. Perhaps the fabric is merely a bit tricky to stitch. In the end, however, If, as the data would seem to suggest, the Zorbium does in fact prove to offer an increased level of protection, these pads are certainly a good option, and, I would not be surprised if Team Wendy upgraded the cloth material in the next version of this pad. They seem to have a good reputation, and, in light of that, I am optimistic. These pads I believe are a step in the right direction for the traditional mask wearer, especially for those working in hot weather.
