Add Brian O'Nora to the list ... I'm with <acronym title='Umpire-in-Chief'>UIC</acronym> in my curiosity given the reported adverse physical effects attributed to the scissors. O'Nora does seem to modify the stance a bit.

Is the scissors stance making a comeback? In just the last week I have noticed at least 3 MLB guys now working the scissors (or some modification) Danley, Fletcher, and Cousins, all former box guys. Wonder if the value of the stance is being reconsidered?

Given All-Star's track record of attentiveness, I am not at all surprised that you received outstanding service Jax. I do love this mask as well. My team Wendy pads fit in the cage quite nicely and feel great. The stock pads are perfectly fine as well and super light, I just really like the Wendy pads.

When I point (to the right only), I don't do it Dana DeMuth/Steve Rippley style, by turning my head to the side. I do it like Ed Rapuano and Tom Hallion used to do it back in the day, facing forward, eyes to the field, just like with a hammer. I used to work the scissors for many years, and developed that style, after trying a Tim Tschida-style "mini hammer," which I grew tired of quickly. Steve.... I gather you have abandoned the scissors?

My fm4000 arrived today... And I love it!!! I have a set of black team Wendy pads that I may eventually put in there, but, for now I think I might give the LUC pads a whirl.

Any consensus on the all-star magnesium throat guard? Is it worth getting one of these if one is getting the fm4000 mask?

They are extremely comfortable.... but they are weak on traction compared to the NB or Reebok Magistrate/Quag models.

Ump-attire now offers replacement padding for the cp.... An extra set can be very helpful for changing out the padding to wash. This will allow you to let the padding air dry after washing per manufacturers instructions.

I am going with team Wendy pads on my Wilson TI and, I have a brand new set of all black Wilson wraparound pads available if anyone wants them. These are the new upgraded model that comes with the new ump-attire all-black TI mask. The fit issues on from previous models were corrected. These fit and feel just like the two-tones but they are all black. I do not believe these are available as replacement pads anywhere. 40.00 shipped. <acronym title='Private message'>PM </acronym>me if interested.
