Mechanics-wise, I would have liked to see PU come up big and kill the play and call the out. I don't necessarily need a big hook, but I bet no one on that field knew that PU called the malicious contact (especially with the celebrating by R2). Additionally, what are the chances that they put the BR back to 1st since he hadn't achieved 2nd when the contact occurred?

That is about as UNcontroversial as I've seen.

I appreciate @dumbdumb for finding these and posting these, but I'm at the point that I am not going to give them any more clicks unless y'all generate a good conversation in response.  Their journalism is well below par.

i am basically just trying at find high school plays for the younger guys to watch and you guys to help them. obviously there is a plethora (is that a word) of plays for MLB. just want them to see that other HS umpires are having their calls questioned just like everyone else, and other umpires having these same situations as they do, and sometimes it is a game ending call like that balk video.

if some other source like the one velho found on yahoo with the balk from the centerfield glad to have it.

it is hard enough just to find anything video high school, other than just a written version from a local paper that wants me to pay (i am so broke i cannot pay attention) so that is out.

pretty much i do not read much of the article and just watch the video and certainly not the comments from fans, if there are any, because most of the comments are who should be fired today comments just like MLB. i also do not use the sound for MLB games i watch either. just watch the game with the sound off. vin scully pretty much ended my listening. oh well.

I do appreciate it @dumbdumb . . . that was not meant to be a slight against you!

I agree that watching plays in any format is beneficial, especially when looking at potential differences in codes.  Even the WCWS generated some excellent conversation despite the disdain for softball around here.  😉
