Little league baseball rule set

The word “prohibited” in the following sentence means exactly what?

“All BPF - 1.15 bats are prohibited.”

It DOES mean that this type of bat cannot be used during the game; however, does it also mean that this type of bat cannot be on the field or in the dugout?

Thanks.

Means it is an illegal bat and 6.06(d) would apply.

I advise the coach to get it out of the dugout so it doesn't sneak into the game and I have to send him home early. 😁

Since it is that time of year, please note that Velho provide the regular season penalty. During tournament the first time an illegal bat enters the batter's box and is discovered:

1. The batter is out (with the option as above to the defensive coach accepting the result of the play if the ball was put into play).

2. The batter is ejected.

3. The manager is ejected.

This is why (at least in my district) we remove any illegal bats found during pre-game inspection to hopefully stop this from happening by accident.

Thanks

I am UIC and wanted to at least make sure my “asking” that the bats be removed was in compliance.

Have a great tournament season!

Well with parents/coaches involved have as best a tournament season as possible. Har har.

@BigVic69 If I find any cracked or dented, those get sent away as well and told not to return.  If I find any BPF or even if they ARE USA bats, but the kids (that carry 2/3/4 bats) say I'm not using that one, so I left it in my bag hanging in the dugout.  The conversation goes a little like this.

Me: Coach, please collect all bats that are "not going to be used" and take them out the parents. Please ask the parents to not bring them back to tournament games, if lil' Timmy isn't going to use it.  If the parent(s) aren't here, please put them in your vehicle until after the game.

Coach: uhhh

Me: If one finds its way into a game, and is found to be illegal, player is out, player AND coach ejected and can't even be at the game site for the NEXT game. Please remove those bats??

Coach: Oh suuuure, no problem.
