Lou B
Had our Inter-League Scheduling Meeting yesterday. Once again all our leagues are participating this year. The larger leagues help out by giving the smaller leagues needed games. Larger league teams normally play one home and one away game against the smaller leagues. Gives their kids the experience of playing at different parks. Between all of the baseball and softball divisions we end up with hundreds of Inter-League Games. We also have Baseball Mid-Season Inter-League Tournaments and Softball Inter-League Jamborees in the Competitive Divisions. Gives kids that aren't on Top Teams or don't make All Stars a chance to play in a Tournament. Inter-League Games start in 2 weeks. Is Inter-League a big deal in your LL District? We push it very hard to give leagues/teams the opportunity to play other leagues at other parks rather than just playing the same teams at your home parks. The kids seem to enjoy it.
Vegas_Ump
We may be having inter-league games here in Las Vegas. Almost have to! Leagues are shrinking! Consider this: If any particular league has "house rules" [as opposed to field ground rules], you can't enforce one set on another team. This means you are using ONLY the basic Little League rulebook. Two examples: I knew of a league that said if a pitcher HBP'ed three batters, he must be taken off the bump. Another league said that a "fake bunt and swing away" was an automatic out. They may have had some well-meaning folks in those leagues, but the other team might not play under those. Point is, inter-league play may be a good idea, but don't enforce any PIROOMAs that are not in the basic book. Mike Las Vegas

Lou B
We have a set of Inter-League Rules that govern Inter-League Play. They supersede all Local League Rules. They are voted on/approved by the Presidents of the leagues participating in Inter-League Play. The rules have changed slightly over the years based on issues/problems from the previous year. No changes last year or this year. Copies of the rules are given to all managers and umpires and are also Posted on our District Website (https://tshq.bluesombrero.com/FloridaLLDistrict15). Feel free to Login and take a look at them.

This is exactly the way to do it, and how we handle it in our district. Every league that participates is on the same page, and you have something to reference when questions arise.
