First base obstruction

Runner on first. First baseman stands directly in the baseline within 3 feet of baserunner. Batter hits grounder towards first. Runner attempts to go to second but collides with first baseman attempting to field the ball What is the call. This is slo pitch

The fielder is allowe3d to field the ball, so this is INT.

 

If the ball hadn't been hit to the first baseman, this would (likely) be OBS -- the fielder gambled, and won.

If F3 is the 'protected' fielder (that is, the one the umpire judges is the one with the best chance for the ball), it is interference.  If F3 is NOT the protected fielder, it is obstruction.  As @noumpere says: it is a risky strategy.

Also - this doesn't matter.  Slow pitch, fastpitch, baseball - same ruling.
