I got a pair of these recently.  I hadn't seen any of them in person before, but they looked interesting to me.  Anyone have personal experience with these?  They are wicked light for plate shoes and seem to offer good low-top protection.

Inner foot area does not look well covered from the photos I am seeing in the post. I would personally prefer that top shield to drop another 3/4 inch maybe even an inch.

Tanel's have been around for a long time!  Those were my plate shoes when I first started umpiring in the early 90's.   I used their cleats for softball when I played, and got their plate shoes.  I loved them!  BUT, that was a LONG TIME AGO! :D

This is what I did to mine back in the day ...... (Made the "T" white)

WHERE DID YOU GET THESE??!!

Tanel was the bees-knees during the late 80’s thru the 90’s, with their trademark 360° cleat pattern. Not only was it functional, but you could tell who wore Tanels just by looking at the ground. They were quite well made and were a price-competitive option to the Nike, Adidas, and Pony models. Then, all of the sudden, POOF! Tanel was gone…

If they’re a plate shoe with an athletic background – instead of an industrial shoe gussied up (glaring right at you Nautilus and Pentagon) – then it’s gonna be a helluva lot better than the 3N2s (their composite toes are a liability), and will be a welcome alternative to New Balance (and their stupid sourcing issues) and Mizuno (too chicken 🐓 sh!t to sell here in the US).

I found a brand-new (or almost new) pair of these at Goodwill.  They're all black (except the bottoms of course).

Size?????????
