CWS TOR Bucknor situation

This just happened in tonight’s game. Bases loaded. Pitch bounces. Goes up, hits Bucknor. Ball comes to rest in his hands/arms on accident (though showed some pretty poor awareness). Finally “realizes” it and drops the ball. Calls time. Awards all runners a base. Sox would have had an easy out on the play had time not been called/ball just dropped. 

What’s the call in FED vs OBR? Did they consider it a lodged pitch? Because it wasn’t trapped in equipment. My understanding is you could keep that play alive if dropped more or less right away.

I liked Gil's comparison to the Bellino situation from earlier this year. How Bellino, by making sure to keep the arm holding the ball locked in place, made the call easier as it was actually "lodged". Where as CB, probably because of the plate stance he uses, had to move both arms in order to call time. Thus meaning that the ball fell from its lodged location. Thus causing more confusion.

Well, Bellino is a pretty smart whipper-snapper with that law degree like lawump, in addition to an MBA to boot. Wonder which degree, and the thought processes involved in each degree, played a more prominent roll in the way he handled his situation.
