The thoughts that come to me during games amaze me. 

When you point and say "yes he did" on a check swing, which hand are you supposed to point with? Does it matter? 

I know you are supposed to take your mask off with your left hand and keep it there and whatnot, but when I go to put it back on I switch to my right and then put it on. Would this be frowned upon in high level associations/evaluations or does it matter?

Check swings I use the left to point but saw a MLB guy tonight use his right for the point and then indicated strike with the same hand... I know, I know... Don't look to MLB as an example but thought it was a nice parallel observation.

Mask... I find myself doing the same as you. Off with the left but putting back primarily with the right.

See I instinctively point with my left but in the M's game yesterday, or maybe today, the PU used both his right and left. Yeah yeah don't look to MLB as an example but.

What I have seen in MLB with the right hand would not be mistaken as a strike call. And with four umpires he could go either way and would not be mistaken. But at your levels it might be. The mask should be in the left hand when you make an out signal. In playing action we teach to take it off with the left hand but if it is not done you can switch it. What hands you use to put it on with don't matter unless you have three hands. But it should be put on authoritatively as in the Youtube video. Google it. No dont.

I was always taught at every clinic and school I have attended to point with the hand closest to the batter. I don't think it matters that much, but for me, I think it looks better.

As far as the mask goes, pro school was very specific in the way you put on the mask. Left hand on the cage, and right hand on the harness. There was no leeway on that one. Again, it does look better in my opinion. 

However, do what works for you or what your association wants.
