Meniscus / PCL Surgery

Found out yesterday that I'm having my knee scoped this Tuesday the 29th for a minor meniscus tear and torn PCL. Surgeon claimed he'd have me back on the field in two weeks. Anyone have any experience with something like this, especially returning to umping? Two weeks sounds like quite a stretch.

Seems kind of quick, but I've never dealt with one. Depends on you I would think. Maybe check into some meniscus recovery steps.

I've had my knees scoped twice but not for a tear and I was waiting tables the next day.

2 weeks sounds fast to me.  my then 14 y/o daughter had a small tear in her meniscus that was scoped and it took her 7 or 8 weeks as I recall to be back 90+%

2 each knee here. The first one is a piece of cake.  I would say from my experience that the sooner you have it operated on after the injury the quicker the recovery. It also helps to be in good condition.  Best of luck.

Thanks for the insight guys. Injury happened a month ago and I'm only 21 so that should work in my favor as well.

Well I have been diagnosed with a torn meniscus in my right knee. I see the surgeon next week. The Physiotherapist said that it would probably take 4 weeks to get back on the field. Also I am 73 years old and may take a bit longer to heal than a 21 year old. In the meantime I have been scheduled 5 high school games next week.

Checking in one week after surgery. I was off crutches in 24 hours and I'm walking with a minimal limp right now. Began more vigorous PT yesterday by doing some squats which made my knee pretty sore. Meeting with the surgeon in one week to determine how long it'll take to get back on the field, and more importantly running.
