13u weekend tournament, played under OBR with minor modifications.

2 out, nobody on, bottom of the 5th, visiting team leads 8-0 (run rule was 8 after 5), so all they needed to do was get 1 more out to end the game.  Pitcher hangs a curve ball and gives up dinger.  Batter takes his time rounding bases, and there's a bit of jaw-boning between batter and pitcher.  My partner on the bases tells them both to "knock it off", and we play on.

We start the top of the 6th, visiting team now leading 8-1.  The kid that hit that HR is now pitching.  He gives up 6-7 straight hits, helped along by a couple of bad throws by his teammates...this game is now a joke.  Next batter CRUSHES one onto the RR tracks 30' beyond LF fence.  He also spends a bit too long admiring the shot, long enough I told him to "move along".

Pitcher is looking toward his coach in the dugout, and I glanced over there too...not sure why I did, but I couldn't believe what I saw...coach made an obvious slashing motion across his throat.  No way, I thought.  No coach is ordering that with players at this age.

Next pitch is fast ball, shoulder high and behind the batter.  I immediately tossed the pitcher and the manager.  Got no grief from either of them.

Lets see if the league does what it should and toss this manager for good. What the heck is he teaching a 13 year old? My kid pulls this and he will be grounded until he is 30. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It's probably travel ball (13U), so these tools have no one to answer to. And that's where a lot of these meatheads land. The goons who get the boot from their local rec league form their own team, and do what they want. I've seen this for years.

If an adult is directing kids to throw at other kids, I'm going to let everyone in the park know, in a very loud voice, why I'm dumping his @ss. Perhaps the parents on his team will speak with their feet and wallets.
