Congrats, review the rules that you will be playing under especially if they are a different set than what your REC ball plays by. Travel ball typically has better players and is easier to officiate than REC ball, treat it like another game and give it your best. I have only done less than 5 one man games when my partner didn't show but hustle and do your best to get the best angles on plays, it's a shame that the coaches will not pony up the extra cash for another umpire especially considering the hefty fee travel ball players typically pay towards their coaches.

And most of all..... don't suck and let us know how it went.

ahhh Calvin ball......................my favorite..........if they make up rules as they go, then make your  rulings as you go.........LOL....

seriously tho......

See if they have any strange interpretations, file them away and  call your normal game.......and remember MST's words.....they make the rules, but its up to me to interpret them.......

Solo game?, concentrate on the priorities.....,

Dont get the Calvin ball reference?....google Calvin and Hobbs....cartoon strip. Calvin and Hobbs played a game where the rules changed on the fly at the whim of either Calvin or Hobbs

@JaxRolo When the coaches saw me walk onto the field, they knew to not argue with the 3 Ps or they would be tossed. (I didn't have to EJ anyone this time though) :)

As for the game, I had a few questions on close pitches (all balls, most just off the plate in/out) and two close plays (one at 2B - out and one at HP - out). Both times the VT HC came out and questioned it, I explained my angle and they left me alone.

All in all, not bad. I had to make change for a $100 bill, which I hate to do.

Hate that as well. I never bring cash to the field.
