I was down in Fla about a month back scouting some showcase ball and I saw a newly promoted AAA guy coming off the field in the most low profile CP I've seen in person.  I stopped him to ask what in the world he had on under there and he told me it was something called a V-tech, I think it was a V, out of Canada.  He swore by it and said he'd never wear anything else.

I didn't and he didn't have time to sit and get more info about it, or even see the actual CP itself, I just know it looked like he had on nothing underneath.

Anybody ever heard of this?  A google search came up empty.

It was def in the same low profile ballpark of the Force 3.

We may have been at the same tournament. I was there with a AAA guy that had this V-Tech. He swore by it.

He did say it was from Canada.

Hey Rook23, I was searching thru here about the Douglas CP and stumbled across several threads about the old All American CP. In my internet search I ran across a company in Canada that sold a cp with the AA logo, but they said it was a VPRO. What my own personal opinion is, that a company called VPRO found the Chinese mfg company of the old AA CP. They are remaking it, or close to it, under the name VPRO. The pic on this sight shows the cp with the AA logo, but if you call them its VPRO. See if this looks like it.  http://www.homerunsports.info/umpires-umpire-chest-protectors-c-713_724_762.html

Well that took less than 10 hours for the mystery to be solved.  Thanks a lot Thunder and MidTn!!  You guys are awesome!

Now I guess the question is does anyone have experience with this guy?  On sale for $70 doesn't seem like a horrible deal to me.

You could get virtually the exact same CP in the Champion version for $45-60 or so dollars these days. Even a little more lower profile with the newest model in the Champion that is out.

actually, .... the Vpro can be sent to Team Wendy's where the Champion can't anymore ..... (they don't/can't do it with velcro)

Yeah, ok you're right.  I didn't think of that. But still, the standard Champion padding (velcro or rivet) is still lower profile than TW or very very close in my opinion. You'd only be getting the retrofit for protection and not to have a sleeker CP.

I've seen guys wear the Champion before.  This seemed more low profile -- more along the lines of what I'd imagine the Force3 would look like.

It's odd to me that this AAA guy was so pumped about it but I don't really hear anything about it in the "gear honk" section that we all love to browse.

Tempted.

When I saw this CP it looked kinda small to me. Personally I would not trust it.

This is the old AA chest protector.  When All-American first came out with it many guys said it was the closest thing to the Power.

It's a very good price.  I ordered one a while back.  The only complaint I have is when I got it, one of the plastic harness strap holder thingies (technical term) was missing.  I haven't contacted them about it because I'll probably get a DeltaFlex Harnes for it.

My All-Star System 7 is lower profile, but I look forward to trying it out.  Guess this makes me a gear junkie now... :WTF

Just because of what you said I ordered one.  :ranton: The bad thing was the $25.00 for shipping :rantoff::Facepalm:
