In my brief history of umpiring I had never call a runner out for passing another runner.

Nope.

 

Either a thing will happen, or it will not.

 

Therefore, the odds of ANYthing happening are 1:2, or 50/50.  Life is 50/50.

Neither one inserted the “Cuban effect" into the equation.

 

Makes a difference, short BUT will slant the result in direction of strong coffee and great sandwiches.

That was the start of the only triple play I was part of as an umpire. B3 passes R1 on dropped fly to short RF. R1 is tagged out going back to first. R2 was tagged trying to advance to third.
