11-12 littleleague championship game. Top of the third the uncle of the coach of the VT (who is probably drunk) jumps the fence runs out onto left field. The PU told him to leave the field, but the uncle refused and ran up at him swearing constantly in his face. The PU immediately threw him out. He refused to leave and stayed on the field for a good 15 minutes. Eventually he left got in his truck and almost drove through the left field fence. (Which is near the parking lot) One of the strangest things I have ever seen.

That is such a safety issue with the rest of the kids on the field....

Out of control intoxicated adult, Disorderly Conduct!

If I was the PU/BU, pretty sure my real life training would kick in and that poor soul would be sitting on the ground waiting for a patrol officer to come pick him up!!!

Just for clarification is it the coach of the VT who is probably drunk, or the crazy uncle??  And what happened on the field that caused this uproar?  Did you guys really kick one?

The drunk idiot that broke my arm with a bat had to be helped by the paramedics that came to help me.

I altered his drivers license photo.

Should we have police at all events based on the current trend.

I don't care if he called a caught fly ball "SAFE".....There is NO EXCUSE for this type of behavior!!!

Of course there is no excuse for that type of behavior, did you really think I was condoning it? Come on.  I was just curious as to what set him off. :shakehead:

It was the uncle that was drunk. And he just randomly ran onto the field. Luckily all of the players got into the dugout before anything serious happened.

If I saw a possibly intoxicated person going on to the field, where the kids are, I'm calling the cops. Immediately.

If I saw something like that I would LIKE to call the cops. However, I don't carry a phone in the field so not much I can do...

Tell coaches to... Yank the kids off the field, and start telling the bench or spectator area to call 911.

Had to eject a coach in an all star game this season because of an illegal bat. Coach wasn't too bad but the spectators were hostile. I had to go to their field the next day for a game. It's the only time I have ever had a phone on the field with me.

Here is what I would do.

1 as soon as he hops the fence the kids are off the field and in the dugout and nobody goes out until you give the say-so. 1b Make sure you and your partner(s) are in a safe place as well

2 Call 911.

If he gets even more violent I have the kids and parents go to the concession stand and stay there until the police arrive and take care of the person.

We are there not only to call the ballgame but we are also there to ensure the safety of everyone involved.

I really hope this was reported to the league.

I kinda disagree when you talk about safety, To many wackos out there. My safety comes first before anyone else on a baseball field.

You are right that your safety is VERY important but you also work with higher levels of play than I do and at your level the players are more likely going to know what to do but at the young LL level like where I work they are much more likely to panic when something like this happens and then all hell breaks lose. Once I know the children are safe I'm also moving to a safe place. I'm not saying that I would  run out there and tackle the guy.
