Clearly a blown call.  Runner disengages from the bag as he slides through, while the fielder maintained the tag with his glove.

I really HATE the umpire's positioning on this play.

Clearly? IMO, the only thing that is clear is that Ross beats Nunez to the bag.   I am not 100% sure a tag was made and I'm even less sure that if there was a tag it was held on Ross through his slide.  I'm gonna give this one to Cuzzi.

That is much closer to a 100% out than the one in the other thread where the guy popped up after a double.

This one also "looks" much more like an out to the naked, untrained eye, as well as the umpire being in a thoroughly terrible position to see the play develop.

Bad call.

Maintained the tag? He swiped at him. And I don't see any angle the tells me 100% the fielder ever touched him.

You think this play is more clear than the play where Conger clearly (as in 100%, no dispute) has his foot off the bag while being tagged?

If that's the play you're talking about, with all due respect, that is idiotic, at best.

There is no angle that shows a definitive tag. And as I said earlier, Ross beat Nunez to the bag, so the only way he could be called out is if he maintained the tag (if it even happened) through the slide. Even if I could clearly see a tag, I am fairly positive the tag wasn't held for that amount of time.

When the word "clearly" is used it should be in reference to something that can't be disputed (i.e. the Conger tag). That word shouldn't be used to describe this play, no matter which way you're leaning.

I think this was a gem by Cuzzi even though it didn't look great.

Where should he have been postioned?

I believe runner was safe as called. Now being out of a position, I might of took a step back rather than forward like he did. One view it seems He might have a tag, 3rd base head on seems like he missed him by Ross' sliding job.
