What brand compression shorts do you prefer? I have used Shock-Doctor, Mcdavid, and Under Armor. Have not tried Smitty yet, but thinking about it. To this point I prefer the Mcdavid, mainly because of the cup pouch instead of sewn in pocket. What is everyones favorite and why?

I wear the Shock Doctors with the long legs. They breath better than the McDavids, as they're made for sweaty hockey players. Get the long legged ones, and thank me later. You'll never wear shorts again, once you strap on your shin guards over them. Butter.

That said, everyone is built differently, and what fits me, may not fit you.

I have been using the McDavid's for the past 5 years because for me they're the right fit and the cup can be easily set and removed in/from its pouch. I do have one pair of Shock-Doctor's that I use infrequently because it's tedious to get the cup set, and one pair of Smitty's which though size large is a bit too tight and small (used infrequently also).

Get them from Target for $10.

No Cup Pocket but since I wear a Nutty Buddy with a jock strap that does not matter to me.

I wear a pair of Franklin compression shorts from WalMart. Then my nutty buddy, then a jOck, then a pair of Under Armour tights. Started wearing the tights after my knees got rubbed raw by the shinguards.

I have used theSmitty long tights for the last two seaons. They have been fine but i'm not a big fan of the internal cup pocket. I have to wear a supporter over them to keep the cup up close to me. Tried the Nutty...hated it. It seems to cut into my tight and won't stay low enough when behind the plate...try the McDavids this seaon...

I have worn the shock doctor for a long time. I played hockey and wear the long ones for hockey but shorts for baseball. They have the most comfy cup pocket. I tend to wear the shorts and nothing else under or over them for best comfort.

I took the above advice last season (my first back from 15 years) and couldn't be happier!! Probably THE BEST purchase I made out of all of my new stuff :meditation:

I really like the McDavids that I wear. I wear a Nutty Buddy, so I have the ones without the cup pocket. I have a couple of pairs of the shorter shock doctors that I like during football and on days that I will only work the bases. Next time I need compression leggings I will go Shock Doctor...unless that 50% off code at McDavid USA returns. There stuff is way to good to pass up when it is that deeply discounted. I also have the padded ankle length McDavids...they are a looser fit and not really compression. I don't prefer them. I typically where them when I have a small school or little league game when I think a lot of balls will make it past the catcher.
