Is it just me or is fieldin culbreth wearing a navy ball bag????

post-2219-134837073085_thumb.jpg

There was a "debate" recently on some board as to ball bag color. Basically, it seems to be association dependent. What is acceptable one place may be a sin in another. Deal with it.

This isn't an association this is the big leagues. You shouldn't be wearing navy with black shirt. Where would he even find a navy ball bag? They haven't worn baby since the al and Nl staffs merged.

MLB umpires are part of the equivalent of an association. And the color they choose is not your decision. Get over it.

When you get paid 200k+ a year to umpire you should match. Doesn't anyone else feel the same way???

May have some sentimental value for him. Let it go. :shakehead:

Does it matter?

I'm just asking why an MLB umpire is not in a matching uniform. If there's something I don't know then by all means enlighten me.

He does not get 200K for winning fashion contests. Maybe he dressed in a dark room. Have you never put on blue socks wand thought they were black?!!?

Danny I'm not trying to beat a dead horse but where would he even find a navy ball bag? They haven't been worn since 99. It doesn't seem like I'm getting anywhere with this discussion so lets just end it.

I have navy for HS. You can get navy anywhere.

That's different because you wear a navy jersey for hs. They only wear black and polo in the big league. Having one for hs is fine.

He wanted to. Enlightened enough?

Maybe his gear got lost and this was all they could find in the local store or the lost and found. IOW, the answer to your "Doesn't anyone else feel the same way???" is apprently no. It might be an interesting observation but at least those who have responded here so far dont really give a s*** about why.

So - did you notice all those so-low-you'd-need-a-nine-iron-to-hit-it called strikes in Sunday's NY/Oak game? To both teams.

First off, Rich, relax man, ...there are many great tasting decaf versions too!

Second: It was my post from way back, and yes, he's rocking a navy ball bag, and I personally think it looks ridiculous. But ...whatever.

And for all of you who are saying "get over it" and getting worked up because Bobby brought this up .... I don't blame him, I get it.

Would YOU ROCK A NAVY BALL BAG with black jersey.

Me says NO ....

As an umpire and an avid photography enthusiast who didn't see this mentioned in previous replys, but, keep in mind that lighting can have a significant impact on colors. Especially, dark colors. When I look at this picture, it's evident that his jersey appears to take on navy blue tint. In addition, I would bet that any one of his crew members would gladly offer up one of their black ball bags before they'd let him work the stick with a navy blue ball bag. Just my :2cents: .

You are arguing over and denegrating people over a fashion choice and I need to relax?

Perhaps some of you should have been the star of "Serial Mom"

Denigrating? Really Rich? Attacking the character of ...etc...etc? I don't think so...

And yes, your "deal with it" and "get over it" comments makes you appear like a grumpy old man. Relax, it's something someone noticed....don't make it more than it really is.

And, I see you didn't answer my question ....
