I have a Honig's mask with the Team Wendy's. Like the frame a lot. I haven't taken a real shot off this mask (I'm alternating with my old mask, which keeps taking hits - go figure) so I can't speak to the Team Wendy's protection, but the the pads are smaller than my others so the vision is good; the firmness of the pads took a little getting used to since they are not the pillows I'm used to.

i like honigs products...but their masks are just too heavy....today where 21 ounces is avg ...the honigs mask weighs 23/24 ounces......my 1993 reach mas with doeskin pads weighs just under 23 ounces....almost 20 year mask and still lighter than honigs lightest mask...btw ...the reach mask i have is the best mask i have used...the old pos is second best ......i have the new silver diamond mask but honestly the pads are ****....u have to buy another set of pads for 30 to 40 bucks making this mask around 100 bucks...my buddy has the new champro super light mask...we weighed it with pads and harness and it came just under 16 ounces..wow...makes the diamond one heavy....i have four masks in my bag...my number one big game mask lol my 1993 honigs purchased reach mask ....my number two mask...1993 lightweight pos mask.....my 2010 silve diamond mask i used for low level games...and my 5 year honigs mask that is collecting dust....btw...one guy offered my 15 bucks for it....didnt sell it...it is still new i only wore a handful of games

I got one of those super light Champro masks for Christmas Going to that from an old Honigs. I can't WAIT to try it out. Going from the Honigs to the Champro ( and the thinner bars too ) just feels weird to me, in trying it out at home. How long has your buddy used the Champro mask?

my buddy loves it..i just bought one myself last week ..i love it but dam i now have 5 masks and three less than 18 months old

Have any of you tried the new Honig's frame with the Team Wendy mask pads? I wouldn't blow of the Honig's stuff just yet.

one of my partners has this rig. He seems to really like it.

That's why the harness should be loose so the mask moves and takes all that negative energy with it.

I completely agree, and practice this same "set up" with my Diamond mask. However... last night I took two shots dead nutz on the chin about 3 batters apart with an f1 who was throwing with some zip. There was less of a "peeling" and more of a "crushing" effect that followed . In all defense of the mask (which I am very happy with) it did not have a chance to peel due to the location of the hits... square on the chin. After the second shot my ears were ringing, and I had a click in the jaw for the rest of the night.

So with that said, it has been 5 months since OP. Anyone slapped a pair of these (Team Wendy) on a Diamond, or similar grill, and given them a real field test yet... what do you think?

I have the diamond silver w/ team wendy's pads . This has been my mask for all HS gms this past season , and if i work any games with 14 yr olds or older as well . I posted about a month ago , a gm i worked adult wood bat very good ball . I took a shot 85+ foul directly into the mask , i had very little effect to my face/head . I was very impressed with how the mask/pads performed . Since this i have taken another shot at low 80's pitching , again not much effect .
