Well, Peter it sure sounds like u are endorsing Kirk and his store. You praise .Kirk s umpire attire shirts but when i saw ur membership poll smittys was number one and honigs two and ump attires ultimate shirts were at the bottom half..And ur bias is blatant and evident when u say when kirk gets his poly pants that they will be better than honigs and u guarantee it.., Come on its ok to love the guy and enjoy whatever perks u get. Just admit it. I m not saying anything bad about ump attire and kirk. I have never bought anything from him but my friend ordered his ultimate shirts last year and sold me one .For what i paid i was not impressed. As for the honigs poly pants. I dont know. 95%+ say they are the best pants in the market . I still wear my 1996 37 dollar honigs plate pants and base and last year added smittys to my clothing line. And finally Peter, overall if u compare prices Ump Attire is more expensive than most retailers . They are not cheaper than honigs thats for sure but not much more expensive either..In conlcusion ur bias and constant endorsement of kirk and ump attire is quite evident and most people who read ur reviews are aware of that. That being said , like i mentioned above, even ur overwhelming push for the ultimate shirt by ump attire was in vain as ur audience of viewers ranked them at the bottom behind smittys and honigs . without prejudice..my two cents...and i love ur columns and ur site very much but ur bias is evident..Keep up the good work and we know ur allegiance to kirk

honigs is now offering new balance plate shoes for 69 bucks..and their new shirts 2 for 38 bucks and other specials. i have purchased the new shirts and they are awesome

I bought one from someone on the board to try out. I haven't worn it in a game yet, but it is a nice shirt. I'm just not sure it's worth more than every other shirt out there. I try not to spend more than $30 on a shirt. Last season I bought a set of Smittys only because they invoiced at $20 a piece. But they are showing wear by spawning random loops and threads, and those leave snag marks.

I used Smitty shirts all of last year, but now I won't again. All of them started spawning loose threads and loops in the front. i bought 4 smitty shirts last year and wore each one at least 40 times each and they held up awesome...they are one of the best if not best shirts i have ever bought.. they fit big and very comfortable..i had two ultimate shrts from ump attire and i wasnt impressed especially for the price...smittys is the best and i would rank honigs second....so i dont knoiw what happened to this guys smittys shirts but i can attest by the quality of the smitty shirts as well as their plate and combo pants

I got one of those super light Champro masks for Christmas Going to that from an old Honigs. I can't WAIT to try it out. Going from the Honigs to the Champro ( and the thinner bars too ) just feels weird to me, in trying it out at home. How long has your buddy used the Champro mask? hi..my buddy got his mask may 2010...he wore it aBOUT 50 TIMES at all levels...he loves it....i wore it once and it was very light...like i said lighter than silver diamond mask....and the pads are bettter than the diamond ones...he paid 80 bucks for it.....im thinking of adding this mask to may already 4 plus collections lol

i like honigs products...but their masks are just too heavy....today where 21 ounces is avg ...the honigs mask weighs 23/24 ounces......my 1993 reach mas with doeskin pads weighs just under 23 ounces....almost 20 year mask and still lighter than honigs lightest mask...btw ...the reach mask i have is the best mask i have used...the old pos is second best ......i have the new silver diamond mask but honestly the pads are ****....u have to buy another set of pads for 30 to 40 bucks making this mask around 100 bucks...my buddy has the new champro super light mask...we weighed it with pads and harness and it came just under 16 ounces..wow...makes the diamond one heavy....i have four masks in my bag...my number one big game mask lol my 1993 honigs purchased reach mask ....my number two mask...1993 lightweight pos mask.....my 2010 silve diamond mask i used for low level games...and my 5 year honigs mask that is collecting dust....btw...one guy offered my 15 bucks for it....didnt sell it...it is still new i only wore a handful of games

i ordered 6 of the old style honigs shirts for 12 bucks....awesome shirts...however they fit small...and i orderd one of the new shirts for 27 minus my discount....they look very good and fit the same a bit small...best shirt for ur money is smitty s ...they fit big and very comfortable and for 19 bucks in my opinion the best bang for ur buck...i have two of the ultimate shirts and i paid 65 bucks for both of them...they were alright but to me nothing special or that great better than smittys ...for the big price tag i dont think they are worth it...at maybe 25 bucks yes.....just my opinion but really the smitty shirts really impressed me

very nice looking plate shoe...i bought one last year...but the fit is not good...they are a bit short in length and the EE width at best is D/E.. ...the shoe is the lightest plate shoe...very light like ur wearing base shoes behind the dish...i wasnt to impressed wtih the toe protection...very minimal...but it is great looking and very light...i wore them around the house four or five times hoping they might stretch in width...i bought them from purchase officials supplies out of pennsylvania for 74.95....and i sold them to a fellow umpire...for me they just didnt fit right and the slimsy toe construction gave me too many concerns...but wow it is very light and good looking shoe....i recently bought a 10 1/2 EEE honigs plate shoe for 59.99 on clearance and they fit awesome....
