first ej in three years

So this is almost two months old. But I had my first ejection in almost three years (after having one a year for almost 16years straight). First round state HS baseball game. On the plate for a #3 v. #4 game. Bottom 2nd first pitch to batter with one out is on inside corner. Strike one. Batter stands up leans over and draws a small line in the dirt. Thanks for playing. Inform HC of ejection who tells me that is how he tells where he is in the box. Really wanted to tell coach "he may want to do something different from now on" but didn't.

Every umpire that was there backed me on it but one... the assoc pres... was not happy about that since it was a good ej.

Funny side note: assoc secretary who was in the stands gets a phone call from our assignor who got a call from the state who got a call from the school AD (proper chain of command) regarding my EJ BEFORE THE END OF THE INNING! LOL. Their response... "he will file the report after the game... the innings it happened in just finished."

Why is #3 playing #4

In WA the first round of the 3A playoffs (Districts) the top five teams in the league play a single elimination tournament with top four advancing to the second round (Bi-Districts). I had the dish for game number two which just so happened to be the #4 team vs. #3 team.
