Power balance bands

Hello all, I recently noticed quite a few MLB umpires wearing the power balance bands on their wrists. I was wondering if anyone on here uses them while working games and if so, how do they work? Thanks in advance!

All studies on similar brands have shown no effect. (I don't have any specific information on this one in particular.)

Ah yes, the old "frequency technology" scam.

The last I'd heard from the 'FT' bit, it was a hologram device (a mere sticker with a hologram on it) (Hmmm - a hologram... sound familiar?) that you could attach to you car's gas tank... (I think it was called a Smogbuster Fuel Disc, or something like that). This "device" claimed to "change the inherent frequency of your gasoline".

This device is no different. Note the "tests" they do on the athletes. They first tip Athlete A off balance. Then they have them wear the bracelet... and reperform the "test". Do an internet search on "applied Kinesiology". These tests are nothing more than a stage magician's trick.

$30 to $40 for a rubber bracelet with a little hologram button? And $10 more for shipping? Well, I can see $10 for shipping if that includes a framed certificate signifying induction into the Suckers Hall of Fame.... :big_no

I envsion that they work amazing well for the pupose for which they were intended.......to remove $29.95 from the pocket of the buyer and put it into the pocket of the inventor.

Many years ago Golfers were the target of these wrist bands.

They only have one effect take money out of your wallet.

Oh yes - the infamous Q-Ray copper bracelet!

That and all those various pieces of junk with magnets in them.

I know these things are junk because my lucky astrology mood watch told me to stay away from such scams. :nod:

and those titaninum necklaces and rubber bracelets. In fall ball some of the kids look like Mr. T. Seems like we spend most of the first part of the HS/FED season "unaccessorizing" players. My first EJ was over jewelry.

I guess if it lightens your wallet it could improve your balance, especially if you have a 'George Costanza' wallet...:nod:

I have really great balance, so I put one of these things on, and I fell right on my @ss.

If everyone in one hemisphere wore these couldn't this casue the rotation of the earth to change? We might even mess up the orbit and ourt place in the solar system. I think for the sake of all of mankind and security of the entire solar system that this a chance I am unwilling to take. On second thought is could effect climate change...........
